What to expect: Students learn basic movements of breakdance, an upbeat and physically demanding dance style that originated in New York City in the early 70’s and has evolved and expanded around the world. As they develop musicality and body awareness, students explore how to combine the fundamental elements of breakdance (toprock, footwork, freezes and intro power moves) into their own freestyle dance. The skills, exercises and routines learned together are designed to inspire, challenge and help students develop confidence in self-expression.
Our BREAK TOTS class is a modified version of the youth class — think: upbeat and energetic exploration of breakdance movements and dance concepts to hip hop grooves in a safe and encouraging environment!
What to wear: Hair pulled back from face, lightweight and comfortable clothes, such as sweats, shorts, leggings, t-shirts, tank tops, and clean street shoes.
